PITCH LAB – DOC.LAB Coimbra 2026 es un laboratorio de desarrollo y pitch de documentales de largometraje que se llevará a cabo en Coimbra, Portugal, del 16 al 20 de marzo de 2026. Está dirigido a proyectos en etapa de desarrollo que cuenten con un teaser, ofreciendo a los cineastas la oportunidad de presentar sus ideas frente a profesionales de la industria y recibir retroalimentación especializada.
La convocatoria está abierta a postulaciones internacionales, permitiendo que cineastas de cualquier país participen. Los proyectos deben ser documentales y el enfoque principal es el pitch, aunque los participantes también pueden trabajar en la estructuración y fortalecimiento de sus proyectos durante el laboratorio.
La fecha límite de postulación es el 23 de enero de 2026. Los interesados deben enviar su dossier y teaser, cumpliendo con los requisitos establecidos por el programa. PITCH LAB – DOC.LAB Coimbra
Script Lab es una categoría del laboratorio de desarrollo de proyectos documentales que forma parte del evento DOC.LAB Coimbra 2026, que se realiza en Coimbra, Portugal. Esta convocatoria está dirigida a proyectos de largometraje documental en etapa de desarrollo que necesiten trabajar el argumento y textos centrales de la historia, sin incluir participación en una sesión de pitch. Las postulaciones están abiertas hasta el 23 de enero de 2026 y el laboratorio se llevará a cabo de forma presencial del 16 al 20 de marzo de 2026. La convocatoria es internacional, aceptando proyectos de cualquier país, y los materiales pueden presentarse en inglés o portugués según necesidades específicas. Script Lab se enfoca en trabajo de escritura de guion y tratamiento, con tutorías especializadas y sesiones individuales para avanzar en los textos del proyecto. SCRIPT LAB – DOC.LAB Coimbra
The Producers Showcase at the European Film Market (EFM) 2026 is aimed at Spanish producers with prior experience in international co-production and distribution, particularly in Europe. Eligible companies must have produced at least three feature films of any genre or format (fiction, documentary, or animation). The application deadline is January 23, 2026, and selections will be announced by late January. Five producers will be chosen to participate in the Showcase and networking activities at the EFM during Berlinale 2026, though market accreditation must be obtained separately.
Selected participants may receive travel and accommodation support of up to €1,500 per person. All pitches and professional meetings will be conducted in English, requiring strong language proficiency. Registration is free, and selected projects will be featured on official ICAA and ICEX channels. The call is national only, open exclusively to Spanish production companies, and accepts only advanced development feature film projects of any genre.

Starting from 2003, Open Doors has been championing filmmaking from regions where independent cinema is especially challenging, building bridges for collaboration across regions, countries and continents. Through Open Doors' public and professional programs, we aim to provide a space where talents find support in every step of their creative and professional journey and where discussion and reinvention of today’s cinema can happen among free voices.
The ultimate goal of the Open Doors is to contribute to the development of a more collaborative worldwide film community without borders, while making the independent scene stronger and more sustainable.

Locarno Open Doors
The La Almunia Film Festival (FESCILA) 2026 opens its Short Film Script Contest, welcoming screenwriters from around the world. The call accepts original and unpublished scripts in Spanish, on any subject, including fiction, animation, and documentary. Submissions can compete in several categories: Open, Youth, Aragonese, Regional, Hispanic-American, and School. Each author may submit up to three scripts, with a maximum length of 20 pages per work.
Applications are open until January 25, 2026, and the 30th edition of the festival will take place from May 9 to 16, 2026, in La Almunia de Doña Godina, Spain. The contest focuses exclusively on literary texts for short films and does not include feature films, series, or project pitches. Participation is international, encouraging a wide range of styles and perspectives. This contest provides a recognized platform to showcase emerging talent in scriptwriting, establishing itself as an important space for cultural and professional development in short filmmaking.
