This is an opportunity for filmmakers, producers, distributors, film schools, among others, to meet with programmers from the most important international film festivals. The goal of this meeting is to deepen the understanding of the specifics of each event and promote films within the international circuit. Meet the Festivals is part of the Curtas Pro section of the 33rd Curtas Vila do Conde IFF and is limited to 24 participants. MEET THE FESTIVALS - Curtas Vila do Conde IFF
The LATINX 2025 Latin American Argument Contest, organized by the Latin American Training Center (LATC), targets emerging screenwriters, students, and recent graduates from Latin America with no produced feature films. The call accepts up to 3-page synopses for fiction or documentary feature films centered on the theme “Latin American Places.” Applications are open until July 2, 2025, with various fees and discounts for diversity and inclusion groups, as well as a social fee waiver option. Prizes include cash awards, coaching sessions with renowned screenwriter Kate Lyra, Final Draft software licenses, and books. The jury comprises distinguished film and drama professionals from Brazil and Peru. This contest offers a great chance for new Latin American talent to advance their projects and gain specialized mentorship.

The Cine Horizontes screenwriting residency in Marseille invites screenwriters, dialoguers, and directors from Spain and Spanish-speaking countries living in Europe to submit feature-length projects, either fiction or documentary. Projects must be original, unpublished, and free of producer commitments; adaptations must have rights acquisition proof.
The residency runs from September 26 to October 17, 2025, offering accommodation, a stipend of approximately €1,000, and up to €400 travel reimbursement. The winner will present their project at the Marseille Spanish Film Festival and participate in professional meetings.
Applicants must send their project in PDF format by email and post by June 14, 2025. Selection focuses on originality and narrative quality. Only one project per applicant is allowed. The winner must commit to residing in Marseille during the residency.

Cine Horizontes - Screenwriting Residency
Torre Barrina organiza el Pitching de Cortometrajes de L’Hospitalet 2025, dirigido a guionistas y directores mayores de 18 años con proyectos originales de cortometraje de ficción o documental, escritos en catalán o castellano. La convocatoria estará abierta del 26 de mayo al 15 de junio de 2025, y los proyectos deben enviarse a torrebarrina@l-h.cat, incluyendo el guion y/o un dossier del proyecto (máximo 20 páginas). Se seleccionarán entre 14 y 20 propuestas, que serán presentadas en sesiones de pitching los días 1 y 2 de julio, seguidas de encuentros individuales con productoras. El evento finalizará el 3 de julio con mesas redondas y la clausura. Todas las actividades se realizarán en Torre Barrina, Centro Cultural de L’Hospitalet.
