Great Message International Film Festival
We really wish to share international thinking which is developed in the form of films with the society and the young generation of humanity.
Every human being is a message in himself or herself, we just have to channelize & nurture that message into a great one. Filmmakers from all across the globe are respectfully welcome to share and submit your great films into the GMIFF.
We understand that you understand the realm of understanding and so you have created your wonderful films with your conscious understanding.
Showcasing Greatness through Audio-Visual
Through vantage point we see that entertainment is just the medium to share realm of life with film lovers. If we penetrate the meaning of life sometime we feel that there is no such meaning or purpose to life, yes! Sometime, but we must have to give a great meaning or purpose to life to create great message for whole humanity or for our next generation.
We are really very small people; please understand what we want to say. But the task or mission which we want to empower is very big. One can understand it by the example of river. The beginning or origin of every river is so small but her consistency with selflessness leads her towards more hugeness.
Most Welcome!
Dear human beings, being human it is good if we transform each moment into humane one.
We really admire your passion and enthusiasm as a filmmaker so with humbleness we invite filmmakers from all across the globe to share your great films into Great Message International Film Festival - GMIFF.

HISTORY
Animation Nights New York was founded by Yvonne Grzenkowicz. On September 9, 2015, Little Water Radio invited us to use their old space at 207a Front St in the back of Fulton Stall Market for our premiere “NY Independents” screening. The program was curated by Yvonne Grzenkowicz (Animation Nights New York) and Robert Lyons (ASIFA East). We had about 45 attendees. We soon outgrew the space! (Thank you, Little Water Radio and Fulton Stall Market!)
Jan-April 2016 we were in residency with the Third Annual Out to See Festival at 192 Front St (Jan-Apr) in the South Street Seaport. We were the premiere event for this winter festival hosted by Little Water Radio and sponsored by the Howard Hughes Corporation. Animation Nights New York continued to grow.
In May 2016, Animation Nights New York relocated to the beautiful 180 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038 with support from Anderson Contemporary, MHP, Clarion Partners, and Maiden Lane Hospitality. We could finally accommodate our growing regular attendance!
Animation Nights New York now holds screening events around NYC. Besides 180 Maiden Lane, we’ve held screening events at the One World Trade Observatory, the Arts Brookfield Terrace at Brookfield Place, and The Gutter Spare Room in Williamsburg Brooklyn. We’ve held workshops and VR pop-up events at The Capitale and The Hideaway Seaport.
We’ve had over 11000 films submitted from all around the world. The work is beautiful and inspiring and the events have fostered a sense of community and exchange.
We’ve had tremendous support from ASIFA, NYC ACM SIGGRAPH, NYWIFT, Women in Animation, and the animation community at large. Animation Nights New York programs have included work by award winning animators such as Bill Plympton, George Griffin, Joanna Quinn, John Dilworth, Signe Baumane, Michael Sullivan, Dustin Grella, AthanassiosVakalis and Tiny Inventions among others.
Animation Nights New York had our First Annual ANNY Best of Fest on September 29-30, 2016. Our panel judges selected 20 films from the 200 screened Sept 2015-July 2016. The ANNY Best of Fest featured Animation Screenings, VR Animation Experiences, Art Installations, Industry Events, Artist Booths, and Professional Panels at 180 Maiden Lane and venues around the Seaport District of NYC.
Our goal is to strengthen the animation community and ensure filmmakers are rewarded for their efforts. We are looking to partner with companies who are naturally aligned with our mission to promote the arts. A huge thanks to everyone who helped us get this started.
Keep supporting independent animation. We hope to see you at our next event!
The Raul Ruiz School Film Festival has been progressively positioned in its three previous versions as the first experimental school film festival in the country, with an increasing reach in different regions of the country. This is a positive indicator of the impact that this initiative has had. In this sense, the described initiative has become a recognized window of diffusion for school cinematographic art. In addition, the possibilities of artistic exploration that the festival suggests through its categories and evaluation criteria have enabled the production teams to investigate and experiment with different film languages. In this sense, the new challenges that the festival offers in its third version are, on the one hand, to continue and strengthen the diffusion and appreciation of school cinema and, on the other, to advance in aesthetic reflection and exploration, as integral contributions to education, with an emphasis on creativity, the generation of projects and the experimentation of artistic languages.
This is why the IV Raul Ruiz School Film Festival is an opportunity to broaden the creative horizons of the diffusion of art and audiovisual culture in educational communities, promoting a creative framework through instances that aim to improve the quality of artistic teaching and to address the interests, social, cultural and economic contributions of the communities.
UNESCO is clear in pointing out that the objectives of development and improvement in the quality of education must be accompanied by a substantial change in the area of social development of the establishments. Educational improvement projects (PME) cannot always advance comprehensively towards the financing of instances for the diffusion, appreciation and creation of inter-school artistic projects.
In accordance with the achievement of these objectives, the Festival in its previous versions has been adding relevant actors from the educational and academic community. Today we are supported by the Schools to Film program of the Cineteca Nacional and the Sarmiento Ruiz Archive (letters of support are attached). Those who have joined have opened and strongly promoted the possibilities of this festival at a national level and with a strong content in experimentation, creativity and collaborative work in the field of learning for girls, boys and adolescents.
In this sense, the prospects have been auspicious, having as a background that in the first and second version we have been accompanied by the application of more than 80 films from all over Chile and the world.
