The Lau Haizetara Documentary Coproduction Forum 2025 will take place from September 22 to 24 during the 73rd San Sebastián Film Festival. It provides a platform for independent producers to present documentary projects seeking European coproduction and funding. The event includes workshops on September 22-23 for selected participants to improve their project pitches, followed by public pitching on September 24 where projects compete for prizes, including a €5,000 award. There are also individual meetings with potential financiers and industry experts. Registration is open until June 27, 2025, with a fee of €250 (+ VAT), reduced to €150 (+ VAT) for EPE-IBAIA members. Applications must be submitted in English and Spanish. Additional prizes include consultancy and selection opportunities at major documentary festivals. The forum is organized by EPE-IBAIA in collaboration with the San Sebastián Festival.

In the changing context of the production and distribution of the audiovisual market, in 2020 the San Sebastián Festival alone promoted a new work in progress, WIP Latam, aimed at Latin American productions in the post-production phase and replacing Cinema in Construction in San Sebastián after 18 years of travel.

Aimed at mostly European production films, WIP Europe is an evolution of Glocal in Progress, open to European films in the post-production phase. WIP Europe will present six films in post-production to an audience of producers, distributors, sales agents and programmers, among other professionals, who can contribute to their conclusion and international circulation.

El 48 se desarrolla en diferentes fines de semana en diferentes ciudades a lo largo del año. En cada ciudad, los equipos de cine locales, desde principiantes hasta profesionales, compiten para hacer un cortometraje en sólo un fin de semana. ¿Tú y tus amigos tenéis lo necesario para hacer una película sobre la marcha?
Todo comienza con el evento inaugural del viernes por la noche, cuando usted y los equipos de su ciudad sacan géneros de un sombrero y reciben los elementos necesarios para su película.
Luego, empieza a correr: escribir, filmar, editar y hacer lo que sea necesario para enviar tu cortometraje el domingo por la noche.
La gran recompensa es ver tu obra maestra en la pantalla grande de un cine local. Se proyectarán todas las películas, tanto puntuales como tardías. No hay nada mejor que ver tu película con el público y ver de primera mano cómo reaccionan ante tu película.
En el evento de premios de la ciudad, se anuncian las películas ganadoras, según lo determinen los jueces locales. Se otorgan más de una docena de premios, desde Mejor Actuación hasta Mejor Dirección y el premio mayor: Mejor Película.
