Cine Pendiente 2025 introduces EXTREMLAB, a call to select five audiovisual projects (shorts, feature films, or series, including fiction, documentary, or experimental) created by students from various regions and linked to film schools. Aimed at emerging creators and producers, the program fosters collaboration through training, one-on-one meetings, and professional development during the 32nd edition of Alternativa. Selected projects will take part in a ten-day creative residency at Badajoz Cine Fest and later present themselves at MAFIZ, the professional section of the Málaga Film Festival. EXTREMLAB aims to balance the territorial distribution of the audiovisual sector and nurture responsible, sustainable, and competitive filmmakers. Each project receives a €3,000 grant to cover participation expenses. The initiative is organized by Novena Nube, responsible for Alternativa PRO since 2010, with the option to modify the program before final selection.

The program aims to connect filmmakers with international solidarity organizations to mentor and support their projects, creating spaces for reflection and learning that encourage a critical, engaged citizenship focused on the Global South.
