The Cine Horizontes screenwriting residency in Marseille invites screenwriters, dialoguers, and directors from Spain and Spanish-speaking countries living in Europe to submit feature-length projects, either fiction or documentary. Projects must be original, unpublished, and free of producer commitments; adaptations must have rights acquisition proof.
The residency runs from September 26 to October 17, 2025, offering accommodation, a stipend of approximately €1,000, and up to €400 travel reimbursement. The winner will present their project at the Marseille Spanish Film Festival and participate in professional meetings.
Applicants must send their project in PDF format by email and post by June 14, 2025. Selection focuses on originality and narrative quality. Only one project per applicant is allowed. The winner must commit to residing in Marseille during the residency.

Starting from 2003, Open Doors has been championing filmmaking from regions where independent cinema is especially challenging, building bridges for collaboration across regions, countries and continents. Through Open Doors' public and professional programs, we aim to provide a space where talents find support in every step of their creative and professional journey and where discussion and reinvention of today’s cinema can happen among free voices.

Locarno Open Doors
The Residència de Guions is a development lab for feature film scripts (including animation) and documentaries in Catalan or Spanish, with a strong cultural connection to Catalonia. It is open to screenwriters of any nationality. The 2025 call was open from January 30 to March 3. Selected projects receive a €12,600 grant to focus on script development between September 2025 and May 2026. Participants work with expert mentors, receive training, foster collaboration among authors, and connect with the Catalan and international film industry. Application is free. The aim is to enhance the quality and international reach of Catalan cinema by supporting emerging talent.

The Malaga Festival is calling for aid for audiovisual creation for the eleventh consecutive year with the aim of encouraging and energizing audiovisual creation in Malaga. These grants are aimed at projects for the making of action, animation or documentary short films with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and free themes.

Audiovisual Creation Grants - Málaga
Festival Internacional de Cine de Lebu MATCH CINELEBU 2026 is an industry platform organized by the Lebu International Film Festival within the BIOBÍO CONECTA section, aimed at supporting Ibero-American audiovisual projects in development. The call is open to unfilmed fiction short films, feature films, and series, with a focus on projects that combine strong narrative value and commercial potential.
Up to six projects will be selected to participate in pitching sessions, one-on-one industry meetings, and professional networking activities taking place from May 26 to 30, 2026, in Concepción. Each selected team will present a five-minute pitch before national and international experts and will gain access to meetings with film funds, distributors, sales agents, and strategic industry partners.
Participation is free of charge. Applicants must submit a single PDF dossier in Spanish including technical information, synopsis, narrative treatment, biographies of the director and producer, current development stage, and work plan. The festival covers accommodation and meals for one representative per selected project.
