IDFA Forum 2026 is an international co-production and financing market dedicated to documentary projects, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as part of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). The call is open to documentary projects from around the world seeking financing, co-production partners, distribution opportunities, and international industry connections.
The submission period runs from June 1 to July 23, 2026. The event will take place from November 15 to 18, 2026. It accepts creative documentary projects at different stages of development, production, or post-production, including feature documentaries, documentary series, and immersive or interactive projects.
The program includes Pitch, Work in Progress, Market, and international co-production activities, offering project presentations and professional meetings with producers, financiers, distributors, sales agents, broadcasters, and other documentary industry professionals. Forum - IDFA
The IBF Europe – Minority Co‑production call by the IDFA Bertha Fund targets creative international documentary projects. Projects must involve at least one European producer and one non-European co-producer, and the director can be from any eligible country. All nonfiction documentary genres are accepted, typically in cinematic format with a minimum duration of 60 minutes.
The next application deadlines are April 1, 2026, and January 15, 2027. Selected projects receive funding in three installments: the first payment (50 %) after contract signing, the second (30 %) upon submission of the rough cut or offline final cut, and the third (20 %) after completion of the film and submission of the final financial report. The first payment is expected between July and October 2026, while the remaining funds depend on the project’s progress, with final delivery required by December 1, 2027.
This fund supports international collaboration, encouraging high-quality documentary productions and fostering cultural exchange between European and non-European producers.

Ventana Sur Docs es una convocatoria dedicada exclusivamente al largometraje documental, que se desarrolla en el marco del mercado Ventana Sur Río de la Plata 2025, en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Está orientada a proyectos latinoamericanos o coproducciones con participación mayoritaria de la región y con vocación de coproducción internacional. No acepta series ni otros formatos distintos al largometraje documental.
La convocatoria contempla dos modalidades: Pitch, destinada a proyectos documentales en etapa de desarrollo, y Work in Progress, enfocada en proyectos que se encuentren en una fase avanzada de edición y con finalización prevista hasta marzo de 2026. En ambos casos, el objetivo es facilitar el encuentro con productores, financiadores, agentes de ventas y programadores internacionales.
Las postulaciones abren el 26 de agosto de 2025 y cierran el 25 de septiembre de 2025, mientras que los proyectos seleccionados serán anunciados el 15 de octubre de 2025. La realización del mercado y de las actividades de Ventana Sur Docs tendrá lugar del 1 al 5 de diciembre de 2025 en la ciudad de Buenos Aires.

DOCS - VENTANA SUR
The 48th São Paulo International Film Festival introduces the first edition of its Works-in-Progress (WIP) program, targeting Brazilian feature films in advanced stages of post-production. The call is open to fiction, documentary, or animation projects in final phases such as editing, color correction, or sound mixing.
The WIP program aims to provide a platform where filmmakers can showcase their projects to key audiovisual industry professionals, including distributors, festival programmers, and international sales agents. This initiative facilitates the completion, distribution, and promotion of films, enhancing their chances for screening at festivals and international markets.
Applicants must submit technical and artistic sheets, synopses, a film excerpt between 5 and 20 minutes, and optionally, a letter of intent and distribution plan. The submission deadline was July 15, 2025.
During the event, held from October 22 to 25, 2025, selected projects will be presented in exclusive sessions and may compete for awards supporting film completion. This call offers a valuable opportunity for Brazilian filmmakers to advance their works on the international stage.

El Foro de Coproducción de Documentales Lau Haizetara 2026, dentro del SSIFF – Festival de San Sebastián, es una convocatoria internacional orientada a proyectos documentales en desarrollo que buscan coproducción y financiación. Está organizado por EPE-IBAIA en colaboración con el Festival de San Sebastián y se celebra en España, en la ciudad de San Sebastián.
La fecha límite de postulación es el 27 de junio de 2026, mientras que el foro se realizará del 21 al 23 de septiembre de 2026, en el marco del Festival de San Sebastián.
La convocatoria es de carácter internacional y está abierta a productoras independientes con proyectos documentales en desarrollo, especialmente aquellos con interés en coproducción europea.
El género que recibe es exclusivamente documental, y se enfoca en proyectos en fase de desarrollo dentro de un contexto profesional de industria.
El área de la convocatoria corresponde a un foro de coproducción, pitching y desarrollo de proyectos (work in development), donde los seleccionados participan en talleres, presentaciones y reuniones con financiadores.
En cuanto al formato, se aceptan proyectos documentales en desarrollo, principalmente largometrajes documentales, con posibilidad de formatos ampliados según el proyecto.
