The United Nations in India proudly announces its partnership with International Purple Fest at the WE CARE Film Festival to host the Purple International WE CARE Film Festival 2025 from 10 to 12 October 2025 in Goa, India.
For more than two decades, WE CARE Film Festival — a joint initiative of the Brotherhood, the UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan, and UNESCO — has been a global platform showcasing the aspirations, challenges, and achievements of persons with disabilities. This 21st edition builds on the legacy of advocacy and storytelling through cinema.
This festival was launched by key dignitaries including:

• Dr. Mallika Nadda, President, Special Olympics Bharat & Chairperson, Asia Pacific Advisory Council
• Mr. Guruprasad Pawaskar, Goa Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities

SUBMIT YOUR FILMS
We invite filmmakers worldwide to submit their short films, documentaries, or feature films on disability issues, within the following duration categories:
• Up to 5 minutes
• Up to 30 minutes
• Up to 60 minutes
• Up to 120 minutes
Themes (based on RPD Act 2016, National Trust Act 1999, and UNCRPD):
1. Inclusive or special education practices
2. Educational journeys of persons with disabilities
3. Livelihood initiatives for/by persons with disabilities
4. Independent living models

PARTICIPATORY RATING PROCESS
A preview/Selection committee will select the final films to be screened. The last date for receiving the entries is 31 JANUARY 2026.
The organizers encourage all filmmakers (with or without any DISABILITY) to produce audio-visual content that complies with all accessibility standards and guidelines. To be considered for screening at the We Care International Film Festival, all films should contain captions and subtitles in English. Filmmakers are also requested to make films with audio descriptions.

A second celebration of animation is coming to Cardiff in April 2O2O.
Over four days, from the 2nd-5th April 2O2O, Cardiff Animation Festival (CAF) will showcase some of the best animation from all over the world, with a broad selection of animated short films, features, masterclasses, workshops, filmmaker Q+As, retrospectives, an education program, behind the scenes screenings, industry events, panels, networking events and parties.
Held at Chapter, the Welsh capital’s vibrant arts hub, CAF is a focal point for Cardiff’s thriving animation community, and a meeting place for industry, independent animators and enthusiasts from the wider animation world. CAF provides a platform in Wales for the best of British and international animation, and will continue to welcome independent filmmakers, exciting new talent and established industry greats to Europe’s youngest capital city.
Cardiff Animation Festival is a non-profit community organisation run by a team of animation lovers and creators living in Cardiff. The Cardiff Animation Festival team have been running animation events in Wales since 2014.
A partnership of the Sabes JCC and the St. Paul JCC, this festival promises to bring the broader community together as a showcase for feature films, documentaries and shorts from around the world on themes of Jewish culture and identity. Each screening includes paired community events to create an enhanced experience, inspire dialog and provide meaningful moments of community engagement.
Since 2004, Kinoki International Student Film Festival has been run completely by students at the Universidad Iberoamericana in México City. Our purpose is to create a friendly environment where film students from all around the world can share their work and compete as part of our official selection.
AmDocs is one of the largest Documentary and Animation only festivals in the United States. We are located in beautiful Palm Springs, not far from the media capital of Hollywood. We take pride in sharing the best viewing environment for both our audience and filmmakers.

The Premio Fausto Rossano Association announces the eleventh edition of the "Premio Fausto Rossano," which will be held in Naples, Italy, at the beginning of November 2025. The award commemorates the life and work of Fausto Rossano, a Jungian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who passed away in 2012.
The event aims to challenge the stigma and prejudices surrounding mental suffering and to highlight the importance of recognizing each individual's personal experience. Through cinema and dialogue with authors, professionals, and experts, the Festival seeks to promote social awareness on these critical issues.
The Festival is sponsored by the Premio Fausto Rossano Association
It's a free and open to all short film festival based in Paris (France). Concept is simple : submit 2min20 shortfilms about an imposed theme each year. Madrid SOS RACISM 2018 edition announces the contest Short Equal Rights and Against Racism.
Any person can participate in this contest regardless of nationality, sex, origin, legal status, etc.
The theme of the short should be linked to the promotion of multiculturalism, immigration, and the fight against racism and xenophobia.
Of all the short films received, the SOS Racism Madrid jury will select works that will be screened publicly between 19th-25th March 2018.

The Mobile Film Festival is an international short film festival.
For 13 years, our aim is to detect film talents following one simple rule : 1 Mobile, 1 Minute, 1 Film.
Our international call for entries is now open until January 9, 2018. Submission is free and you can submit several films.
LA Underground Film Forum (LAUFF) is dedicated exclusively to independent, experimental, and auteur cinema. It focus on avant-garde, art-house, independent and no/low budget filmmaking.
Our program provides a venue for filmmakers to reinvent and explore new approaches, to foster new forms of media art and to build an audience for such work. We aim to present a wide range of work exploring the many definitions and interpretations of the concept of “underground”.
We’re looking for films made with passion, obsession and drive; films that go beyond expectations and genre; films, video and audio projects that strive to push the boundaries of accepted form and content. A strong sense of authorship is a must.

The X International Shorty Week 2023 Short Film Festival will take place early September in Santa Catalina´s Castle, Cadiz. There, the public will be able to attend the screening of the short films of different competitive sections and the awards ceremony.
Aullido International Video Show CONVOCA to present works to select those who will integrate their 9th International Video Clip to be held in March 2021 in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.

Experimental Forum is an international performance, film and video art festival showcasing experimental film and artists’ moving image from new directors and innovative video artists from around the globe, with the third edition taking place in Los Angeles in November 2018. Our aim is to provide a supportive platform for the exciting and challenging work that is outside the scope of mainstream film festivals and art galleries.
We welcome experimental cinema pieces (abstract, narrative or documentary), video art works, essay films, artists’ moving image and media art, as well as documentary and narrative films that seek to expand, redefine or reconfigure the means and ends of their respective fields. Experimental Forum exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists’ moving image work and is committed to engaging local audiences with new and/or unheard voices in film.
We are particularly interested in works made by early stage filmmakers and artists whose work is underrepresented. We provide a collaborative platform for moving image works made for the gallery and for the cinema with the aim of building a community across disciplinary and institutional faultlines.

The AnimAcción is one of the artistic projects of the "Cultural Association Sen Mood of Nome", and returns in its second edition. AnimAcción is a festival of short films of animation, which shows the artistic potential of a whole new generation of animators.
Animation is an artistic discipline that offers unlimited potential in the hands of artists who want to use it, a creative and imaginative potential.
This call for shorts is born of our desire to offer the public a fun show with the intention of increasing the cultural offer of the city of A Coruña and its region.
The selected short films will be screened on Thursday 19 December in the Marilyn Monroe Hall of the Metropolitan Forum (A Coruña), Friday 13 December in the Rego da Balsa Library (Carballo) and Saturday 14 December in a cultural space in the city center of A Coruña. The public present at the event will proclaim the winning work with their vote.
The day of the screening will be the occasion to create a bridge between artists and public and meet some of the creators present in the room. We will take the opportunity to ask them questions and be able to discuss the world of animation, talk about their works and their artistic experiences.
