Making Waves Film Festival takes film out of the cinema to promote entertaining, immersive, engaging and challenging film events delivered through a combination of film, performance and the use of an exciting range of venues. Making Waves also supports and exhibits pioneering work by international talent and local independent film-makers. Making Waves supports opportunities to develop skills in film-making, distribution and events.
Now in its third year, the Making Waves Short Film Competition 2015 will be open for entries from Friday 1 May.
Film makers are encouraged to enter the Best International Film, Best National Film and Best Local Film categories with winners’ films being screened during Making Waves Film Festival week and at partner film festivals in France and Italy.
In 2014 the Making Waves Short Film Competition attracted over 250 entries from across the world. Best Film went to Irish film “I've Been A Sweeper” and Best Local Film was awarded to “History Bombs”. The competition was judged by three industry experts led by Oscar nominated short film screen writer Julian Unthank who has written multiple episodes of NEW TRICKS for the BBC and the Oscar Shortlisted short film"Love at First Site) starring John Hurt.
Confirmed partner film festivals for 2015 include Taranto and Fermo Film Festivals in Italy.

The first edition of the NOVMA FILM FESTIVAL took place on october 2012.
The Green-Go International Short Film Contest aims to gather environmentally and socially conscious youngsters to organize the contest and the festival on one hand, and on the other hand, to inspire youngsters to creatively express their ideas in a
short film format. With the shorts, we aim to raise awareness on environmental and social problems at global, European and national level. With Green-Go festival, we wish to create the basis of a sustainable green film event that activates both youngsters and the civil society, attracts interested people and stakeholders and generates dialogues within the whole society about key eco-social questions.
Within the film contest, we accept shorts in three categories to reflect on European awareness, global environmental and social problems and the connection between biodiversity and society.
The Green-Go Short Film Contest is generously supported by the European Commission.
This year we are awaiting short films (and Testimonies!) in the following three categories:
1. Build green, live green (Green infraestructure)
2. The last day on Earth? (Earth's overshoot day)
3. Your Europe in 2050 (EU budget)
Show a human face on the issues of immigration, and immigrant workers' rights through the exhibition of films/videos that document the lives of immigrants, and exiles, the facts that motivate people to migrate, and the problems most people face in the process to migrate to other country.

O 16º Festival Internacional de curtas-metragens da Cuenca del Salado será realizado em Rauch (Argentina) de 6 a 12 de outubro de 2025.
O Festival é organizado pela Associação Civil “Cineclub El Gabinete” de Rauch, com o apoio da Diretoria de Cultura do Município de Rauch e do Instituto Cultural de Buenos Aires e o endosso da Faculdade de Arte da UNICEN (Universidade Nacional do Centro da Província de Buenos Aires).

El objetivo principal es difundir y promover la cinematografía en general y el cortometraje en particular, apoyando a las directoras y los directores de cortometrajes y creando un espacio donde puedan dar a conocer sus trabajos.

En el FRAME Film Festival queremos darle al público que sigue y disfruta los cortometrajes, la oportunidad de decidir sobre la selección de las películas que pasarán a la FASE FINAL para recibir los premios TALENTO FRAME.
The registration of a film in the competition selection process of the festival indicates the full acceptance of these bases. The organization of the Festival will resolve in an unappealable manner with respect to any matter included in this regulation or its interpretation. The sender of the film authorizes FEDOCHI to select some sequences not exceeding three minutes that can be broadcast by TV, within the framework of programs and spots that disseminate the festival.
The 14th version of the Documentary Film Festival of Chiloe will take place between November 5 and 10, 2018.
Os objetivos do Festival de Cinema TRIFI são:
- Promover e incentivar futuros artistas e artesãos nas artes, meios de comunicação e tecnologia da produção cinematográfica.

A 16ª edição incluirá uma exposição não competitiva dedicada a curtas-metragens LGBT+ da Ásia.
Festival fundado pelo Conselho Regional de Kharkiv em 2009.
A missão do Festival é encontrar e apoiar estúdios e clubes para crianças/jovens, que estão envolvidos na criatividade de cinema e televisão, crianças talentosas; desenvolvimento do cinema infantil e televisão juvenil na Ucrânia.
Os objetivos do Festival são:
— o estabelecimento e desenvolvimento de contactos entre estúdios de crianças/jovens, intercâmbio de experiências e desenvolvimento profissional adicional dos participantes;
— comunicação ao público em geral de obras e projetos interessantes e destacados de diferentes países, apresentação das melhores práticas globais no desenvolvimento da indústria cinematográfica e televisão para crianças/jovens;

O Festival é realizado entre a televisão infantil e juvenil, animação, estúdios de cinema e rádio, clubes, grupos e autores individuais, emissoras de televisão e rádio e entidades de produção criativa, diretores e centros de produtores, que produzem programas e filmes para crianças e jovens.

Film Front moves frontiers: open call for motion graphics exhibition
Film Front, international short film festival, due to be held from 25th to 28th October in the cultural centre of Novi Sad, has decided to include motion graphics exhibition in this year’s festival’s program. Artists can submit their animations, presentations, animated GIFs, animated elements and other pieces that belong to the category of motion graphics.
Even though motion graphics are rather a fine arts category, they are tightly connected to the moving images art. That is why Film Fronts wants to honour these artworks that more than often do not find their way to the film festivals, but whose aesthetic value overcomes their usually determined functional purpose.
