The Projects Submission call for the FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival in Portugal (Espinho) invites film projects to its Pitching Forum 2026. The Short Script Workshop in Berlin is opening its sixth call for applications, and we are excited to invite you to participate in this new edition.
Led by María Meira, an award-winning screenwriter with over twenty years of experience in international cinema, our program offers an inspiring audiovisual writing experience in Spanish, aimed at gathering and enhancing the richness of contemporary Spanish-speaking perspectives and voices in Berlin.
In collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes in Berlin, the Workshop provides a platform for creation and reflection, where participants will work intensively and personally on the development of script projects over six months. Additionally, the program includes a cultural exchange experience in the city of Berlin.
A maximum of 9 selected projects will be developed from their early stages to extract their full potential, with the goal of producing a high-quality script that could become a short film lasting between 10 and 20 minutes.
