CINEMA Campus is a training program for screenwriters and filmmakers aged 18 to 40 developing a short film script. Organized by the RECORD association with support from the Córdoba Provincial Council, it will take place from September 13 to 21, 2025, in Montilla, with accommodation and meals covered.

Six projects will be selected to receive intensive training in scriptwriting, production, financing, pitching, and distribution. Scripts, whether fiction or documentary, must not exceed 12 pages, use more than three locations, and be filmed fully or partly in Montilla. AI use is not allowed.

The Best Script will be produced by Kuántika Films with a budget of €8,000 and receive €1,750 for festival distribution. The winning author will also receive €1,500. Applications close on August 8, 2025.

El WMMINTL Script Competition 2026 es un concurso internacional de guiones de cortometraje organizado dentro del ecosistema de We Make Movies. La convocatoria cierra el 21 de junio de 2026 y forma parte de un festival que se realiza del 7 al 10 de noviembre de 2026. Está abierto a participantes de cualquier país, sin restricciones nacionales, y se enfoca exclusivamente en proyectos de ficción.

El concurso está dirigido a guiones de cortometraje con un máximo de 30 páginas. Las obras seleccionadas pasan por un proceso de evaluación que culmina con la elección de cinco finalistas, cuyos guiones son interpretados en lecturas en vivo durante el festival. De estos finalistas se seleccionan ganadores en el marco del evento.

El área corresponde a un concurso de guiones (script competition) dentro del circuito de cine independiente, con un formato de showcase de industria basado en lecturas performativas.

The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) offers grants for screenwriting of feature films, aimed at screenwriters developing fiction, documentary, and animation projects. The total budget allocated is 8 million euros.

Grants can reach up to 30,000 euros for fiction scripts and up to 20,000 euros for documentaries. Forty-five percent of the budget is reserved for scripts written exclusively by women, and 25% for scripts in Spain’s co-official languages other than Spanish.

This call seeks to promote diversity and quality in Spanish cinema by supporting the initial creative phase of film projects. Interested applicants can consult the rules, requirements, and deadlines on the official Ministry of Culture and ICAA websites, and address any questions via email.

The Italians Doc It Better is a call for Italian documentary projects to be presented at the MIA Market 2025 in Rome (October 6-10, 2025). It targets producers with documentaries in post-production, rough cut, or finished stages that have not yet been publicly screened or distributed.

The goal is to promote Italian documentary cinema by offering a platform to showcase projects and facilitate international distribution across cinemas, TV, and streaming platforms. Eligible projects include feature-length documentaries, docuseries, and single documentary films for television.

The submission deadline is August 10, 2025. Selected projects will gain exposure to industry professionals, distributors, and broadcasters, increasing their chances for co-production and distribution deals.

The 3rd Queer Audiovisual Residency 2026, organized by Fundación Cuórum, is accepting applications until October 13, 2025. It is aimed at filmmakers and visual artists of any nationality with projects in development—including fiction, documentary, audiovisual essay, experimental, or hybrid formats, whether short, medium, or feature-length. The main goal is to strengthen project portfolios through conceptual, creative, and technical support, with a focus on inclusion, sexual and gender diversity, social justice, empathy, and critical thinking.

The program comprises two phases: a virtual phase from February to March 2026 with lectures and one-on-one mentoring; followed by a five-day in-person phase in November 2026 in Mexico City, offering professional guidance, specialized training, and networking opportunities. During this in-person segment, the Foundation will cover accommodation and meals for up to two people per project; travel to Mexico City is the responsibility of the participants. Additionally, selected projects must pay a one-time administrative fee of USD 200.
