Somewhere near Morlaix, Brittany ( France) in the early 20’s, Jacques and Franch enter the village inn, owned by Yanael, his wife Adenora and their niece Katic.
After spending the night drinking and playing cards, the two young men, suddenly realising it’s almost midnight, are afraid taking the road back home this late. Supertitious, they fear the scary and mystical encounters that Brittany’s legends are filled with. Thus, Yanael invited Jacques and Franch to stay at the inn for the night. Katic, who never misses an opportunity to tease them, mocks their absurd beliefs. She makes a bet, and, as a challenge, decides to go around the nearby old graveyard three times. She wants to prove them that ghosts are just legends.
While she is walking around the graveyard to win her bet, she notices a shroud laid on a tomb. Thinking that her oncle Yanael is trying to play a joke on her, she takes the fabric back to the inn. But when Katic confronts them, she realises they have nothing to do with this. The shroud she took could be the one of a dead person who will now never stop to torment them.
