The Cine y Mujer 2025 Screenwriting Residency offers a creative and training space for Spanish-speaking women screenwriters, including trans women and individuals identifying as women. Its goal is to provide an environment to strengthen feature film scripts while promoting decentralization in the audiovisual field.
The residency will take place from November 26 to 30, 2025, in Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico. Participants will receive specialized mentorship, accommodation, full meals, and local transportation, while travel to Xalapa and personal expenses are the responsibility of the participants.
Applicants must be over 18, have prior screenwriting experience, and submit a feature-length script of 60–100 pages. Required materials include a synopsis, script, motivation letter, and proof of registration payment. The deadline for submissions is October 19, 2025, with results announced on October 30, 2025.

Screenwriting Residency: Cinema and Women
WIP:LAB is a training and analysis space for emerging filmmakers of Ibero-American non-fiction cinema. The objective of this program is to support the completion of feature-length documentaries through narrative resources. Those responsible for the selected projects will receive advice from prominent national and international professionals. They will also have the possibility of accessing a series of incentives and prizes designed to support the completion and distribution of their work.

The Young Audiovisual Laboratory of the Reteena Festival 2025 is aimed at young filmmakers aged 17 to 25 with projects in Catalan that are still in development, including short and feature films. Its purpose is to provide training, mentorship, and visibility for emerging cinematic talent.
Selected participants will receive personalized script tutoring with professional filmmakers, along with workshops on pitching, project dossiers, and masterclasses on production, distribution, and sustainable filmmaking. Participants will have the chance to present their projects in an open pitching session with well-known production companies, increasing their funding and development opportunities.
The laboratory also offers a €1,000 prize for the most outstanding project and full accreditation to the Reteena Festival, granting access to all festival activities. Key dates include registration in September–October, selection announcements in November, and in-person workshops in December.

Young Audiovisual Laboratory
DOC:LAB is the documentary project development lab of #LINK, the Industry section of FIDBA. Aimed at Ibero-American documentary feature films in production with filmed material, it offers specialized guidance in scriptwriting, financing, production, and distribution. The program includes individual and group meetings, one-on-one sessions, conferences, and roundtables, taking place in person in Buenos Aires from October 6 to 11, 2025. Applications are open until August 15, 2025, with a fee of $50 until June 13 and $60 until June 30. Selected projects must pay $290 to participate in the lab activities, which include access to FIDBA:CAMPUS, pitchings, and festival screenings. Attendance by the director at all activities is mandatory. Winning projects will be announced on October 11 during the festival's closing ceremony.

The 9th Workshop for Cinematographic Projects from Central America and the Caribbean is now open to filmmakers from the region with feature-length projects in development (fiction, documentary, or hybrid). Up to 15 projects will be selected for an intensive workshop held from October 18 to 27, 2025, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Organized by Ibermedia, with support from the Honduran Film Institute (IHC) and AECID, the workshop offers expert mentoring in scriptwriting, directing, producing, and distribution. Participation is free and aimed at screenwriters, directors, and producers from Central America and the Caribbean with prior experience.
The call is open from May 16 to July 28, 2025. Applicants must complete the form on Ibermedia’s website and submit the required materials as outlined in the official guidelines.
